Poison in the Cup of Christ?

"I would weary to begin again to be a Christian, so bitter is it to drink of the cup that Christ drank of, if I knew not that there is no poison in it."
-Samuel Rutherford

I echo the weariness and struggle in this quote of Rutherford. We can know the Truth in our heads...and we can know that it really IS TRUE...BUT...at the same time our heart still hurts. It IS so hard to live it out sometimes...

MOST OF THE TIME!

Take comfort that you are free to struggle and hurt!!

Jesus cares about your pain! Though He knows He is coming one day to make all things right, I believe he grieves with us-

Read how Jesus responds to the death of His friend Lazarus: When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept. So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” But some of them said, “Could not he who opened the eyes of the blind man also have kept this man from dying?” (John 11:33-37).

He could have...

I have been told that it is an honor to live a life a faith because we will have an eternity to live by sight, where...the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there (Revelation 21:23-25).

But my heart hurts today and I am weary...I am praying for your hearts as well.

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20)
